Vintage Ads: Women (would have been banned)

These would have been banned if we tried to release them today. Clearly the way society and advertising view women has been a little off even in the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s.

Not sure they tested this one out before claiming whether or not it’d work. Maybe it has the same chemical makeup as Ax body spray. That would keep her coming back apparently.

Wow. Just. Wow.

Now what do we need a man for?

Martha Stewart must look like Catherine Zeta Jones.

Wear a tie, and she’ll be your servant. That’s what this ad is telling us.

Women are often pleasant indoors, but outdoors we are a drag… hahaha.

Wear our sweaters you male egocentric consumer!

Lysol for feminine hygiene? I use lysol to clean my bathroom…

This ad makes me giggle cause she is being held back by humongous spider webs because she hasn’t been touched in so long due to her feminine hygiene.

…and being barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen.

This dude is so concerned with the runs in her stockings. Most men don’t even notice when you get your haircut, but don’t let your stockings get a run… or he’ll run.

and under your feet? Not sure how this is advertising slacks?

I’m not sure she thinks of this as a punishment.

Directions on getting what you want. Especially when it applies to appliances.
